BEFORE YOU BOOK

Questions guests ask before a first session

Everything a first-time guest usually wants to know about NOMAD — how a booking is made, what happens once you are in the room, how long to set aside, and what the days afterwards look like.

  • Korean and Chinese skincare lineage
  • Sessions paced, never rushed

What happens on a first visit to NOMAD?

A first visit begins with a short conversation, not a service. Your therapist looks at your skin in daylight, asks what your current routine is, what the weather and your work do to it, and what you would like to feel afterwards. Only then is a protocol chosen. Nothing is decided before we have looked.

The session that follows is quiet. Steps are announced before they happen, pressure is checked as we go, and anything can be paused or stopped at any point. Most first visits run between sixty and ninety minutes from the moment you sit down to the moment you leave.

FROM ENQUIRY TO SESSION

How does a booking actually work?

Four steps, from the first message to the note you leave with.

  1. 01

    Send an enquiry

Tell us roughly what your skin is doing and which days suit you. A short message is enough — no forms to fill in beforehand.

    • WhatsApp or the consultation form
    • Mention any allergies or recent procedures
  2. 02

    Consultation on arrival

Ten to fifteen minutes, seated, in daylight. Your therapist reads the skin and agrees the protocol with you before anything is applied.

    • Come with clean skin if you can
    • Bring the products you use daily, if it is easy
  3. 03

    The session

Cleanse, the chosen steps, then a settling phase. Each step is named before it begins so nothing is a surprise.

    • Speak up at any point — pressure and pace adjust
  4. 04

    Your aftercare note

You leave with a written note: what was used, what to pause for a few days, and when to come back if you would like to keep the rhythm.

    • Sent to you as well, so it is not lost

Can I come in if my skin is sensitive or reactive?

Yes, and it is worth saying so in your first message. Sensitivity changes the protocol rather than ruling one out: gentler cleansing, fewer actives, shorter contact times, and a patch check on the jawline before anything is taken across the face.

If your skin is broken, sunburnt, or reacting to something new, we will ask you to reschedule and suggest what to do in the meantime. NOMAD is a beauty studio, not a place for skin conditions that belong with a doctor — when that is the honest answer, we will say so.

How do I choose between the protocols?

You do not have to. Choose by the outcome you want on the day — calm, clarity, hydration, or a lift before an occasion — and your therapist will match a protocol to what the skin is actually doing when you arrive. Guests who book the wrong-sounding service are moved to the right one at no fuss.

If you would rather read first, the skin glossary explains the words we use, and each service page describes what happens step by step.

Frequently asked questions

Filter by topic, or search for the word you are looking for.

Yes. The studio runs one guest at a time in each room, so sessions are booked rather than walk-in. Two to three days ahead is usually enough; weekends and the days before a public holiday fill earlier.

PLACEHOLDER FOOTAGE

What a session looks like

Reading about a session tells you less than watching the pace of one. This clip is placeholder footage while the studio's own is filmed, but the rhythm is the point: slow hands, few products, long settling times.
