Gentle Enzyme Facial in Kuala Lumpur
Fruit enzymes soften and lift what is sitting on the surface, without the sting of an acid. For skin that looks dull and rough but cannot take a stronger session.
- Enzymes, not acids
- About 60 minutes
What is the Gentle Enzyme Session, and who is it for?
The Gentle Enzyme Session uses fruit enzymes rather than acids to loosen the dull, rough layer sitting on the surface. Enzymes work slowly and only on what is already loose, so there is warmth and a faint prickle rather than the sharp sting people remember from a strong peel. It suits skin that looks grey and feels rough but reacts badly to acids, first-timers who are nervous about resurfacing, and anyone whose skin runs warm in Malaysian humidity.
Being honest about the trade-off: gentler also means less dramatic. One session gives a softer, brighter-looking surface rather than a visible change, and guests who want more usually build up over three or four visits rather than reaching for something stronger straight away.
IN THE ROOM
What your visit looks like
- 01
What your skin has taken before
We ask about past peels, acids at home and how your skin reacted. If you had a bad experience with an acid, tell us about it — it changes how long the enzyme stays on.
- 02
Cleanse, then a patch on the jaw
A double cleanse, then the enzyme is placed on a small patch near the jaw first. We wait a minute and watch it before anything goes near the rest of your face.
- 03
The enzyme, watched the whole time
Applied evenly and left for five to ten minutes depending on how your skin responds. Your therapist stays in the room the whole time and asks how it feels roughly every two minutes.
- Warm and faintly prickling is expected
- Sharp or stinging means it comes off immediately
- 04
Removal and a cool mask
Removed with cool cloths, then a calming mask for fifteen minutes to bring any warmth back down before you sit up.
- 05
Hydration and a firm sunscreen rule
Layered hydration, then sunscreen — and a short, direct conversation about wearing it every morning this week. Freshly refined skin and Malaysian sun are a poor match.

Questions we hear most
Enzymes only work on what is already loose on the surface, and they stop when that runs out. Acids keep working until they are neutralised. That makes this session gentler and more predictable — and, honestly, less dramatic in one visit.
Warm with a faint prickle is normal and expected. Sharp stinging is not — say so and it is removed within seconds. Your therapist stays in the room and asks you roughly every two minutes.
Usually not visibly. Some guests notice a light dryness around the nose two days later. Flaking sheets of skin are not what this session does — if that is what you are after, we should talk about a different one.
The surface feels softer the morning after the first one. A visible difference in how even the skin looks usually takes three or four sessions, three to four weeks apart.
Yes — pause retinoids and exfoliating acids for three days beforehand, and for three days after. If you forgot, tell us rather than staying quiet; we shorten the contact time instead of cancelling.
Book it at least five days before a beach trip, not the day before. Skin is more sun-sensitive for about five days afterwards, and a strong sun day in that window undoes the point of coming.
