Korean Hydrating Facial in Kuala Lumpur
For skin that feels tight by lunchtime and looks thirsty under office air-conditioning. Layer upon thin layer, in the Korean way — seven light passes rather than one heavy cream.
- Layered, not heavy
- About 70 minutes
What is the Hydration Protocol, and who is it for?
The Hydration Protocol is built around layering: a soft cleanse, then several thin passes of water-light essence pressed in one after another, a hydrating mask, and a light seal to hold it. It is the Korean approach of many light layers rather than one thick cream, and it suits skin that feels tight a few hours after washing, drinks up moisturiser and still looks flat, or has spent all week between air-conditioning and the heat outside.
Dehydrated skin and dry skin are not the same thing, and oily skin can be dehydrated too — the shine and the tightness often arrive together. Your therapist will say which one you are looking at, and the answer changes what goes on your face here and at home.
IN THE ROOM
What your visit looks like
- 01
Working out which kind of dry
We ask when the tightness arrives and where the shine sits, because dehydrated and dry skin want different things. Five minutes of questions saves the whole session going the wrong way.
- 02
A cleanse that leaves nothing squeaking
A cream or balm cleanse and a low-foam second step. If your skin squeaks after washing at home, that is usually the first thing we change.
- 03
The layers
Thin, water-light layers pressed in with the palms, one after another, each given a moment to sink before the next. It feels cool and slightly damp, never sticky.
- Pressed in with the palms, not rubbed
- The same method we teach you to use at home
- 04
Mask and a short massage
A hydrating mask for fifteen minutes, with a short massage through the temples and jaw while it sits. The room is dim and quiet for this part.
- 05
Sealing it in
A light occlusive layer to keep the water where we put it, then sunscreen. Without this last step most of the session evaporates by evening — which is exactly what happens at home when it is skipped.

Questions we hear most
Often yes. Oily and dehydrated arrive together more frequently than people expect — skin that feels tight and looks shiny by afternoon is usually short of water rather than oil. Everything used here is water-light, so nothing sits heavily.
No. There is no steam, no acid and no extraction in this session — only cleansing, layering, a mask and a short massage. It is one of the easiest sessions to sit through.
One session feels good for a few days. Skin that stops feeling tight day to day usually takes two or three sessions three to four weeks apart alongside the home layering we show you — and the home part is doing most of the work.
Most guests say several days, shorter if they sit under strong air-conditioning all week. Sealing the layers at home each night is what stretches it.
Seventy minutes is a long lunch. If time is tight, the Express Refresh borrows the layering idea in a shorter form — ask us and we will suggest which suits your week.
Yes. Skin is slightly dewy afterwards, so give the last layer a few minutes to settle before foundation goes on and it will sit better.
