THE FACIAL FAMILY

Korean-Method Facials in Kuala Lumpur

A family of unhurried sessions built the Korean way — layers rather than force, warm cloths, patient hands. Every first visit starts with a quiet look at your skin today.

  • Never rushed

What is a Korean-method facial, and who is it for?

A Korean-method facial is a layered session rather than a single strong step. It runs a double cleanse, warm steam to soften, gentle work on what is genuinely ready, a mask, and a close of thin layers of hydration. The pace is the point: skin is asked to change a little, repeatedly, rather than a lot at once. It suits anyone who wants their skin looked after steadily — dull, tired, dehydrated or simply neglected skin, and skin that reacts badly to anything abrupt.

NOMAD is run by a Korean and a Chinese practitioner, and the studio follows the standards both were trained in. Korea and China set the pace for skin care in a way the rest of the world follows, and that lineage is what the room is built on. What it is not is anything a doctor should be handling — persistent, painful or scarring skin belongs with a doctor, and we will tell you so rather than take the booking.

IN THE ROOM

What a facial session looks like

  1. 01

A quiet look at your skin today

Your therapist looks at your skin in daylight, asks what you have been using, and what your week ahead looks like. The protocol is chosen here, not before you arrive.

    • Bring the names of anything a doctor has given you
A therapist studies a guest's skin in soft window daylight before the session
  2. 02

    A double cleanse

Oil first, then a soft foaming second pass. Most of what a facial achieves is decided here — a rushed cleanse limits everything that follows.

White cleansing foam rests on a guest's cheeks and forehead mid-cleanse
  3. 03

    Warm steam, then careful hands

Around eight minutes of warm steam softens the skin, then your therapist works only on what is genuinely at the surface. Expect to be told no about at least one thing — that restraint is deliberate.

    • Deep or sore areas are left alone, always
Warm steam drifts across a resting guest's face as careful hands work at her cheek
  4. 04

A mask, with the lights low

Fifteen quiet minutes under a mask chosen for how your skin behaved during the session, not for what was written down at the start.

A guest rests under a translucent mask in a dim, warmly lit room
  5. 05

    Thin layers, and a plan

Hydration is layered on in thin veils rather than one heavy finish, and you leave with a short written note of what to use and what to pause at home.

How do you choose between the facial protocols?

You do not have to. Choose the consultation and let your therapist choose the protocol — skin behaves differently on the day than it does in a description, and a session picked in advance is a session picked from the wrong information. If you would rather arrive with a preference, the shortest useful rule is this: if your skin feels tight, go toward hydration; if it feels rough or blocked, go toward cleansing; if it stings or flushes, go toward calm.

Most guests settle into a rhythm of one session every four to six weeks, which is roughly one skin cycle each. A first visit is not a commitment to a course, and we will not sell you one.
