Peels & Resurfacing in Kuala Lumpur
Resurfacing done the Korean way: light, frequent, and paced for a climate with sun every day of the year. We stop where the skin says stop.
- Light strengths, more often
- Patch-tested first
What is resurfacing, and who is it for?
Resurfacing means loosening the dull, spent surface layer so that what sits underneath catches light again. In this studio it is done with enzymes and low-strength acids, applied in short passes, watched the whole time, and rinsed the moment the skin has had enough. It suits skin that looks grey or rough, skin with a flaky texture that make-up will not sit on, and skin whose tone has stopped looking even.
The Korean posture on resurfacing is the opposite of the one most people arrive with. Lighter strengths, more often, with the skin never taken past a warm flush — rather than one aggressive session and a week of hiding. In Kuala Lumpur that is not a style preference, it is the sensible answer to strong sun twelve months a year, because freshly resurfaced skin darkens in sun far more easily than it lightens again.
IN THE ROOM
What a resurfacing session looks like
- 01
What your skin has already had
Every acid, scrub and retinoid you use at home, plus any recent sun. This decides the strength — and sometimes it decides that today is a hydration session instead.
- Tell us about any recent laser, waxing or injectable work

- 02
A patch, and a wait
A small test area behind the jaw on a first visit, watched for a few minutes before anything goes near the rest of the face.

- 03
Short passes, watched closely
The formula is applied in sections and timed. You will feel warmth and a light tingle. Your therapist stays beside you and stops at the first sign the skin has had enough, not at the number on the clock.
- Say something the moment it goes from tingle to sting

- 04
Neutralise, then cool
A full rinse, then a cool mask to bring the warmth down. Most of the pinkness settles before you leave the room.

- 05
Sunscreen, and the rules for the week
Sunscreen goes on before you leave, and you go home with a short list: what to pause, when to restart it, and why the next ten days matter more than the session did.

THE DETAIL
What to expect, in plain terms
| Detail | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Sessions in this family | The Gentle Enzyme Session and The Glow Refinement Ritual |
| Session length | About 60 to 75 minutes, including the patch test on a first visit |
| How it feels | Warm, with a light tingle that rises and then settles |
| Right afterwards | A soft flush for one to three hours; skin feels smoother the same evening |
| The next few days | Light flaking around the nose and chin is normal — do not help it along |
| Rebook rhythm | Every three to four weeks while building, then spaced out |
| Not the day for it | Sunburn, cold sores, active breakouts, or a beach weekend ahead |

Strengths are chosen on the day. Nothing is fixed in advance.
Why does sunscreen matter more after resurfacing?
Because you have just removed the layer that was doing part of the shading. For roughly ten days afterwards, skin picks up colour faster than usual, and dark patches gathered in that window are slow and stubborn to fade. This is the single reason most resurfacing goes wrong in this part of the world, and it has nothing to do with the session itself.
The rule we give is simple: sunscreen every morning without exception, reapplied if you are outdoors past midday, a hat or umbrella when you can, and no swimming pool or beach for a week. If you are travelling somewhere sunny in the next ten days, tell us — we will move the session rather than send you into it.
BEFORE YOU BOOK
Questions we hear about peels
Usually only lightly, around the nose and chin, two or three days later. Dramatic sheeting is not the aim and is not a sign of a better session — it is a sign the strength was pushed further than it needed to be. Whatever does lift, leave it alone and let it go on its own.
It should be warm with a tingle that builds and then eases. It should not sting sharply. Your therapist stays beside you throughout for exactly this reason — say the word and it comes off immediately.
The following morning is fine for most guests. The same evening is not — skin is still warm and open, and it is the easiest twelve hours to leave bare.
Texture usually reads smoother the same evening. Evenness of tone is a slower story — think three or four sessions across a couple of months, alongside daily sunscreen. Anyone promising more than that in one visit is selling you something.
Yes, with a pause — stop five days before and restart a week after, at half your usual frequency. If a doctor has prescribed anything for your skin, follow their guidance first and tell us what it is; we work alongside it, never against it.
Yes, and the light-and-frequent approach is exactly the right one — deeper skin tones respond badly to being pushed hard and can hold darkness for months afterwards. That is why we patch test, start low, and would rather run an extra gentle session than one strong one.
